Currently, we have no idea what sort of boat we want.
We're leaning towards a cruiser stern purely from a social perspective as we wish to do some entertaining on-board. A Trad stern would be lovely and my ideal boat, but given the lack of space for others we don't really feel it is practical. As a result I can see us ending up with a semi-trad as a compromise between the two.
As to lengh, we've been members at NBCYC for over 20 years now and I think that would be our ideal mooring location - although this then puts a limit on 40' of boat. This then leads to other practical limitations. Obviously we can go longer than that, but then we'd be mooring somewhere else.
Fortunately, we don't need to make decisions yet so we shall just have to wait and see...
